About Me

After starting as a DCS engineer I worked as a operator to learn more about the ins and outs of working as a operator. Then I went back to the engineering part and used the experience as a operator to get better results. There is a lot more to tell about this (many years taken) workflow. But that is part of the consultancy.

Systems I have worked with:

  • Spec 2000 from Foxboro.
  • TDC 2000 from Honeywell.
  • Teleperm from Siemens.
  • PCS 7 from Siemens.
  • 800 XA from ABB.
  • EVO from Invensys.

Skills I used with these systems:

  • Engineering the systems I/O and controllers.
  • Writing the Functional Design Specification.
  • Managing Factory Acception Test.
  • Managing Site acception Test.
  • Implementing the SA method.
  • Project manager in many DCS migration projects.

My Vision :

Operators can work with a HMI that gives them the information they need. Brought to them in SA style, meaning:

  • Screens devided in overview workspace and alarmview.
  • Fast navigation, multiple ways to get to the page they need.
  • Good alarm management.
  • Inline information.
  • and many many more.
